Booking and Scheduling
What happens if the weather is bad for an outdoor session?
If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll reschedule your session for another day or move it to my studio.
What’s your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
Life happens! If you need to reschedule, just let me know at least 24-28 hours in advance, depending on the session type. Deposits are non-refundable but can be applied to a rescheduled session.
How do I book my session?
You can reserve your session by contacting me through here on my contact me page, email or social media. A deposit is required to secure your date.
When is the best time to schedule a maternity session?
The best time for maternity photos is between 28-35 weeks, when your bump is prominent but you’re still comfortable. If necessary we can go outside this window but I highly recommend trying to stay within that.
Do you offer Mini sessions?
Yes! I offer mini sessions throughout the year, especially around holidays. I also have a list of Year Round minis that clients can book at any time. I keep all mini session information up to date, here. Keep an eye on my social media for announcements of new mini sessions.
How far in advance should I book my session?
It really depends on the type of session! For portraits, I recommend booking 4-8 weeks in advance. For maternity or cake smash sessions, aim for 6-12 weeks before your requested date. For events, try to book 4-6 months ahead. For newborn sessions, it’s best to book as early as possible—I recommend scheduling during your second trimester to ensure availability. However, I keep dates open for last minute newborns each month. I do take last-minute bookings if I have availability, booking early ensures your session goes as smoothly as possible. I typically schedule out 9-12 months, so don’t hesitate to reach out early to secure your spot!
Pricing and Payments
Do you take debit and credit cards?
Yes! I send invoices for all sessions, and you can easily pay with a credit or debit card directly through the invoice.
Do you offer discounts or special promotions?
I occasionally run special promotions on my social media pages and I also offer a $15 referral discount for any client that uses your name at booking for a paid full session. Follow me on social media to stay updated! I also offer a 10% military and first responder discount on all sessions (excluding minis) as a small way to say thank you for your service. Additionally, I offer 10% off to foster or adoptive parents for newborn sessions or any sessions done within their first year of life.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes! Gift certificates are available for any session type. They make a perfect gift for birthdays, holidays, or baby showers. Contact me here to purchase one.
How much do you charge and do you offer payment plans?
Pricing varies depending on the type of session. Please visit my pricing page here for detailed information or contact me for a custom quote. All sessions come with the automatic payment plan of 50% due at booking and 50% due 1 week prior to the session. If this doesn't work for you I’m usually more than happy to work with you on a custom payment plan. Just let me know your needs, and we can create a schedule that works for both of us.
Editing
Do you give raw images?
No, I don’t provide raw images. My editing process is an essential part of creating the final product, and I want to ensure you receive the best possible results.
what equipment do you use?
I shoot with a Nikon Mirrorless Z6III camera with various Nikon lenses.
My baby/teen/I has acne—do you retouch?
Yes, I include natural retouching in all sessions to ensure you look your best. This includes skin smoothing, blemish removal, color and light correction and minor adjustments.
Client Experience
Do you take pictures of older kids?
Absolutely! I love working with kids of all ages, from newborns to teens. Each session is tailored to their personality and interests.
What amenities are included at your studio?
My studio is designed to make your session as comfortable and stress-free as possible! In addition to my client closet (included free) and all props and styling tools, I offer:
A cozy sitting area for parents and families, complete with a snack station stocked with coffee, water, sodas, granola bars, chips, and more.
A changing table fully stocked with baby essentials in case you forget something.
Hair tools for styling yourself or little ones, plus a huge selection of headbands and bows.
Cakes and custom sets are included for cake smash sessions.
And if you’re feeling peckish, my studio is conveniently located next to a great coffee shop, a smoothie spot, and a few yummy restaurants—feel free to grab something to bring in with you!
Do you work with pets during sessions?
Yes, most all pets are welcome! I love including furry family members in your session. Just let me know in advance so we can plan accordingly.
Do you have a client closet to borrow from? Is it free?
Yes! My client closet is available for maternity, newborn, baby and child milestone sessions at no extra cost. It’s stocked with beautiful outfits for women and children up to about age 7.
Travel and Locations
Can you recommend any good locations?
Absolutely! I love capturing special moments all over the Valley—including Scottsdale, Chandler, Gilbert, Queen Creek, San Tan, Tempe, Paradise Valley, and beyond. I also work at a variety of stunning outdoor locations throughout Arizona, from scenic parks and desert landscapes to beautiful water spots and urban settings. If you have a particular vision in mind, let me know, and I’ll help you choose the perfect location. And if you're interested, I’ll even travel out of the valley or out of state upon request to craft a session that’s just right for your family’s story.
Are the travel expenses included in your packages?
There is no fee to come to my studio. Travel for outdoor sessions within 45 miles of Gilbert, AZ is included in my packages. For locations beyond that, a small travel fee may apply. Let me know your location, and I’ll provide a custom quote. I can also travel out of state with a fee, upon request.
After the Session
Do you provide digital files, and how do I access them?
Yes, all packages include some digital files. You’ll receive a download link to access your high-resolution images.
How do I view and select my images?
You’ll receive a private online proofing gallery where you can view and select your favorite images to be edited. You will also have the option to purchase additional images at this time.
Do you offer prints or albums?
How long does it take to receive my photos after the session?
You’ll receive your proofing gallery within 2-4 business days of your session. Once you’ve selected your images, final edits will typically be delivered within 2-3 weeks. I will give you my current editing turn around time then.
Newborn Sessions
How do you ensure safety during newborn sessions?
Safety is my top priority. I’ve trained under pediatricians and some of the top newborn photographers in the world and continue my education to stay up-to-date on the latest safety practices.
What if my baby is older than 2 weeks? Can we still do a newborn session?
Absolutely! Your "typical" newborn sessions are shot between 3 days and 5 weeks post birth. Some photographers will stop shooting newborn sessions between 4 and 12 weeks old. I however offer newborn sessions for babies up to 4-5 months old (and even older if your baby was born early). We’ll adjust poses and expectations to suit your baby’s age. I believe every family deserves gorgeous photos of their new baby. Some poses are just not possible after certain ages but I can take gorgeous newborn type photos for a long time. Do you provide props, outfits, and blankets for newborn sessions? Who picks the sets?
Yes! My studio is fully stocked with all props, outfits, hats and headbands and blankets to create the perfect setup for your session.
You will recieve a style questionarrie when you book your session. This questionarrie will have all sorts of questions for me to figure out your style, and wants. I will then design custom sets for you based on your answers.
How do I know when to book my newborn session? What if they come early or late?
I recommend booking during your second trimester. I’ll put your due date in my calendar to hold your spot. Once your baby arrives, we’ll finalize the session date, that way I’m flexible to accommodate early or late arrivals.
If you’re booking after your baby is already born, please reach out as soon as possible. I only reserve two extra slots for last-minute newborns each week, so availability can fill up quickly!
All Other Sessions
Do you offer sessions for couples or engagements?
Yes! I love capturing the connection and chemistry between couples. Whether it’s an engagement session or just a romantic shoot, I’d be honored to document your love story. All couples sessions would be under my 'Portrait' pricing.
Do you provide maternity gowns or outfits?
Yes! I have a client closet with maternity gowns and outfits you’re welcome to use at no additional cost.
can you do large corporations, branding, or business shots?
Absolutely! I offer branding and business photography for individuals, teams, and corporations. Whether you need headshots, team photos, or product shots, I’ll create professional images that reflect your brand. Contact me for a custom quote.
What should we wear for our family session?
I recommend coordinating outfits in neutral or complementary colors. Avoid busy patterns and logos for a timeless look. I’m happy to provide more detailed styling tips once you've booked your session.
Do you shoot weddings?
Yes, I occasionally offer wedding photography upon request! Whether it’s an intimate elopement or a full-day celebration. Contact me for more details and custom packages.
How much does it cost to add another person to an extended family session?
For family sessions, the base price includes up to 8 people. If you’d like to add more family members, it’s an additional $30 per person. Let me know the size of your group, and I’ll create a custom quote for your session!
Do you offer fresh 48 sessions?
Yes, I typically need 2-5 weeks’ notice to book a Fresh 48 session, but I do reserve a small number of spots each month for these special sessions. I absolutely love capturing those precious moments right after you’ve met your new baby—it’s such an incredible time to document!
Do you offer outdoor or in-home family sessions as well as studio?
Yes! I offer both outdoor and in-home sessions. Let me know your preference, and we’ll create a session that fits your style.
